“I had been around horses growing up, and since I’d moved to Edmond for my Mom to be closer to family, I began looking for a place I could volunteer that had horses. My search led me to Willow Ranch. Their mission of promoting hope, healing, and wellness by connecting children, adults, and veterans to the herd was a divine appointment. When I arrived the first day, the beautiful 19+ acre ranch felt like coming home.
Within the year, I completed the SPUR Model program just so I could better understand what Willow Ranch did to help people partner with horses on the ground and work through some of the challenges they may face.
There is a ton of behind-the-scenes work that goes on behind what they do. There is a tribe of volunteers who make it all work. But the ultimate goal is to give options to families that can help strengthen relationships and bring community to those who may feel isolated or misunderstood.
Your investment in Willow Ranch saves lives. It saves families. It saves children much heartache because they learn to walk through life with tools and experiences that will go with them the rest of their lives.
Working with a horse will be eye-opening, but most of all, it will be heart opening. Supporting Willow Ranch to keep this effort available for years to come will be investing in the lives of people you may never meet, but it will be oh, so worth it.”
